The third annual Children’s Carnival at Whitehall was all about kids and food and fun. Hosted by Yale Housing, and open to the Yale Community and their families, there were games, bounce houses and a fire truck! Children with brightly painted faces also enjoyed hot and cold carnival foods and a lot of it. Over 300 ice cream cones were eaten, 460 hot dogs, 500 boxes of popcorn and countless servings of cotton candy, fresh fruit and snacks. About 350 Yale community members and their families attended. The date was moved because of weather but the final day turned out a bit chilly but sunny. In addition to the bounce house, the children enjoyed an obstacle course, a velcro wall, a clown, balloon twister, face painters, fire truck, police car and numerous carnival games.
This event could not have been put on without the help of our Housing RCs, residents and some the children from Whitehall. Rumor has it this is a popular event and the kids start talking about it in September! Thanks to all who helped put this together and all who attended. See you next year!
