Residential colleges will close to all students and non-graduating seniors on Thursday, May 7th at 3:00 PM EST. All students must completely vacate campus by this time. Late departures are not allowed and there are no exceptions.
Residential colleges will close for graduating seniors on Tuesday, May 19th at 12:00 PM EST. Late departures are not allowed and there are no exceptions.
Post-Term Housing
If you are approved for post-term housing due to your participation in postseason athletics, or your assistance with commencement and reunion activities, you will receive specific instructions about move out and for moving into your post-term housing assignment. Post-term housing is only available to preapproved groups sponsored by Yale College.
Students approved for Post-Term Housing may remain in their room until Friday, May 8th at 9:00 AM EST. Post-term housing students must completely vacate their term time rooms by this time. Late departures are not allowed and there are no exceptions.
To Check Out
On your departure date, when you’re ready to leave campus:
- Visit the Undergraduate Housing Portal and log-in with your Net ID and password.
- Click “Schedule Your Move Out” on the top menu bar
- On the Spring 2026 Check Out Process page, click “Continue”
- On the Anticipated Departure Date page, click “Continue”
- This will bring you to the Preparing to Check Out page. You will be asked to review the move out check list and attest that all items on the check list have been completed.
- Click the attestation button to confirm you have reviewed and completed the checklist.
- Your check out is now complete and you will receive a confirmation email.
