Yale Information and Campus Services

  • Living in New Haven provides useful information about the city, its schools, and life in New Haven.
  • McDougal Center Activities provides programs and information for graduate students and postdocs.
  • Office of International Students & Scholars (OISS) is the first stop for many international students and scholars as they navigate a new city, new country, and all that they have to offer.
  • Recycling is a major concern at the University, and this website provides information about University recycling services and practices.
  • Student Financial & Administrative Services (SFAS) hosts all student information and is where the billing is processed for all housing contractual fees. Student accounts can be viewed online. For more information, please visit the SFAS website.
  • Student Personal Property Insurance (Renter’s Insurance) is required if you are residing in one of the graduate dormitory or apartment units. A renter’s insurance policy will be purchased on your behalf and the fee ($60) will be applied to your student financial account. Students can opt out by September 1st with proof of insurance. Students can use any vendor of their choice, but if interested, Haylor, Freyer, & Coon, Inc., has a specific personal property and liability policy designed for Yale graduate and professional students.
  • Yale Athletics provides information about intramurals, all sports teams and their schedules, and University sports facilities, including gyms, outdoor fields, swimming pools, ice skating rinks, etc.
  • Yale Daily News is the student–run newspaper, published only when classes are in session.
  • Yale Dining has the schedule of meals and special events relating to the various Dining halls around campus.
  • Yale Emergency Management will inform you about important updates and preparedness plans for various emergencies, be they related to weather (severe storms), health, or general disaster response.
  • Yale Facilities FAMIS connection is the program used for entering work requests for maintenance for all of Yale’s buildings.
  • Yale Fire Marshal’s Office encourages all students living in the Graduate Dormitories and Graduate Apartments to be safe in their campus buildings. Always look for two ways out of your room and apartment. Remember – at the sound of an alarm, grab your keys and ID card, clothing, and shoes appropriate for the outside weather, and you and your family should quickly and calmly exit the building. Yale Police and Security staff will help confirm when the building is safe to reenter.
  • Yale Health Plan provides health services for students and their families, including needed immunizations and checkups, and also provides them with the latest information about health issues and education.
  • Yale Human Resources provides information for employees and job applicants.
  • Yale Information Technology Services (ITS) is the central provider for Internet, email services, cell phones, and other equipment to use and purchase. This website also provides answers to many questions regarding their services, updates to the University services, and outages as they may occur.
  • YaleNews is published weekly by the Office of Public Affairs and provides information on activities, lectures, concerts, and visitors to the University.
  • Yale Student Employment helps students locate part-time jobs in various offices and locations around campus.
  • Yale Worklife Program is sponsored by Human Resources and provides a number of programs on working and related issues for students as well as all University employees.
