Room Draw, Spring 2026 | Yale Housing

Dear Students,

As we near the end of the Fall semester, the Housing Office is actively preparing for on-campus housing next year. Room Draw for all students for the 2026-2027 academic year will kick off in just over a month, on January 14th.

To help you prepare, we’re sending this overview of the Room Draw timeline which you will find below. You will continue to receive email correspondence from the Housing Office at key points throughout the Room Draw process.

Please check your email regularly, as these notices will often include important and time-sensitive information related to Room Draw.

Setting aside time to review the Undergraduate Housing website where you will find detailed information on Room Draw policies, processes, and deadlines as well as answers to many of the questions you may have is also very important.

And as you and your friends plan for next year, do not hesitate to use the suitemate and roommate agreement planner.

Room Draw Timeline: Spring 2026

January 14 – February 24	Intent Declaration for Sophomores/Juniors
January 14 – March 13	Intent Declaration for Seniors
January 15	SAS Housing Accommodation request deadline*
January 16 (12:00 pm EST)	Change of College Affiliation request deadline**
February 19 – February 24	Group Formation for Sophomores/Juniors
February 19 – March 13	Group Formation for Seniors
March 3 – March 5	Oversubscription/Regrouping for Sophomores/Juniors
March 25 – March 27	Oversubscription/Regrouping for Seniors
March 23	Lottery Assignments sent to Sophomores/Juniors
March 31	Lottery Assignments sent to Seniors
March 25 – March 26	Room Selection for Sophomores/Juniors
April 2	Room Selection for Seniors
April 13	Assignment Pending List Process

*If you are requesting or renewing a SAS housing accommodation for the 2025-2026 academic year, please reach out to Student Accessibility Services (SAS) following the steps below. The deadline for SAS housing accommodation requests is January 15, 2026 (including a completed SAS housing form from your treatment provider).

Steps to request SAS housing accommodations for next year:

Complete an SAS accommodation request form in the Accommodate system.
Have your current provider that you have been working with this year complete the SAS housing form and return it via email to sas@yale.edu or secure fax at (203) 432-8250. Be sure to allow enough time for your provider to complete the form by January 15th.
Schedule an appointment with SAS.

**To apply, please use Yale College’s Change of Affiliation Application form. The deadline to submit for an affiliation change is January 16, 2026, at 12:00 pm EST.
