Room Selection Appointments Now Available

Dear students,

Room selection appointments are now available to view for participating students. You can view your appointment, as well as available inventory, on the Undergraduate Housing Portal. On the timeline below, please note the dates in which room selection starts and ends for your draw.

Your appointment date and time displayed in the Housing Portal is your official room selection appointment. Please review the tips below to help prepare for your room selection appointment.

Tips for Success
Your group leader is responsible for selecting a room or suite during your assigned room selection appointment. The group leader is also responsible for placing all students in the group into all bedrooms in the suite. Students who are in a group and are not the group leader will be able to view suites when logging into the portal, but do not have the ability to select suites for the group or place group members into rooms.

To lock and finalize your suite selection your group leader will need to assign all members to an available bed in your suite. If all group members are not assigned, you will not be able to finalize your selection. Please note, there will be opportunities to make in-suite changes before the end of the semester, if needed. A confirmation email will be sent to all group members once your Group Leader has completed all steps to verify your group’s suite selection.

If you are the group leader and will be unavailable during your assigned room selection appointment, you may assign another student in your group to be the leader in the Housing Portal. Students can make these changes any time before their room selection appointment. Please note that students will not have access to reassign group leaders once their timeslot becomes active.

Withdrawing from On Campus Housing (Junior and Seniors Only) 

Because all members of a group must be placed in a room for a suite selection to be finalized, you are officially contracted for your on-campus room next year at the start of the room selection period, Wednesday, March 26th. If you would like to withdraw from on campus housing without financial penalty, you must make this request in writing to Yale Undergraduate Housing no later than 5:00PM on Tuesday, March 25th. Upon processing your request, your group size will either be reconfigured to match the updated group number or will be assigned an incoming waitlist or transfer student.
