Housing Check-In

Check-In Information:

All residents must make a move in appointment.  You will choose your move-in appointment from one of the provided dates listed below. It is important that you are mindful of these dates when creating your travel plans. 

Housing Move-In Options - License begins August 1st

Check-In Option 1, At your building:  Saturday, August 1st - Sunday, August 2nd from 9:00 am to 11 :00 pm.

Check-In Option 2, Rosenfeld Hall:  Monday, August 3rd – Thursday, August 6th, from 8:00 am - 11:00 pm.

Check-In Option 3, 272 Elm: Friday August 7th - Thursday August 13th,  from 8:00am - 11:00pm

Check-In Option 4, At your building:  Friday August 14th – Sunday August 16th from 9:00am – 11:00pm. 

Check-In Option 5, 221 Whitney Avenue: Monday-Friday beginning Monday, August 17th from 9:00am-3:00pm.

You must be pre-registered as move-ins/key pick up are by appointment only.  Appointments can be made in your self service portal. 

  1. Log in to the portal 
  2. In the top gray header click move in appointment
  3. Click select term ( big blue button)
  4. Review your options and scroll to bottom of page and click take me to appointments. (blue button)
  5. Click Grad Move - In: Fall 2026
  6. Now scroll thru the calendar to choose your prefered date and time. 
  7. Click confirm.  

What if I arrive to campus outside the dates/times available? 

If you are planning to arrive on campus outside of the designated move-in times/days, you will need to make sleeping arrangements such as hotel reservations until the next available move in appointment.

  • If you arrive to campus and did not make an appointment it is likely you need to make hotel arrangment. 

Where do I check-In?

You will receive a confirmation email prior to your appointment with your check-in details. 

Who is my Community Fellow (CF)?

Each dormitory and apartment complex has dedicated Community Fellows. If you have any questions before or after move-in, please do not hesitate to reach out to them.

Does Housing Have Furniture or Other Household Items Available to New Residents? 

Yale Housing runs a year-round swap room with used donated small kitchen appliances, clothing items, electronics, and other household goods that residents can take for free as needed.  Residents may also donate items they no longer need for others to take.  https://yaleconnect.yale.edu/GHSwap/club_signup.

How do I get to campus from the airport?

There are many ways to get to campus from JFK airport (NY), La Guardia airport (NY), and Bradley airport (CT). There are shuttle busses, trains, and rental cars.
